COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. (WKOW) -- The Columbia County Dispatch Center responded to the report of two snowmobiles falling through the ice on Lake Wisconsin in Sunset Bay on Sunday morning. Officials say it happened around 11 a.m. The report they received was that one person was in the water and another person was on the ice.

Last Quarter. The spring crappie bite on Delavan Lake has been consistently strong over the past few weeks, with exceptional crappie fishing reported in the last couple of days. Anglers have reported an abundance of crappies measuring between 12 to 14 inches being caught. Currently, they are in the depths ranging from 4 to 8 feet of water.Fish in the weeds. A few anglers have been in the bait shop and doing okay finding fish. It sounds like the crappie were up shallow on the lake they were fishing and they found perch slightly deeper. Yes, they are tearing up the parking lot and laying extra gravel access roads through the wetland to reach water's edge.
